NOBLE INVESTMENTS (UK) PLC comprises a group
of Professional Numismatists of long standing with some
150 years of combined experience.
We are the only Numismatic trading and investment company
listed in the stock market in the UK.
We handle collectors' coins ranging from Ancient
Greek, Roman and Byzantine (Gold, silver and bronze) to
European, Indian, Russian and Islamic, colonial and especially
top quality English Gold and Silver Hammered as well as
Milled up to ca. 1950.
As well as our team of in-house specialists,
we employ world class external consultants in all specialist
fields and the acquisition in August 2008 of Apex Philatelics
Ltd has seen the company grow in size. It has now become
a formidable market force, offering a complete package to
collectors and investors of coins, stamps, banknotes, commemorative
medals and military decorations. Our ability to offer our
clients access to buy, sell or auction, in London, Hong
Kong and New York gives them a wide range of options. Our
specialist and consultants cover virtually all aspects of
English, Ancient and Foreign coins, commemorative medals,
tokens, banknotes, Military decorations and world stamps.
Jasper Allen, Chairman. Jasper Allen was recently
elected to the post of Chairman of Noble Investments (UK)
plc having served as Deputy Chairman for a number of years.
Jasper is a corporate financier specialising in smaller
public companies. He is an experienced public company director
and, until recently, was a Director of Insinger de Beaufort.
He is also a keen coin collector.
Ian Goldbart, Managing Director. Ian Goldbart
combines over 30 years experience as a keen coin collector
with additional investment and banking knowledge as a stock
broker in order to provide assistance in creating investment
portfolios.
Dimitri Loulakakis (OSJ), Director. Dimitri Loulakakis is
a veteran numismatist. He has been a full time professional
since the late '60's and was the founder and owner of Chelsea
Coins before joining Noble Investments (UK) Plc. His expertise
ranges from Ancient to English and European coins and medals.
He is regularly consulted by museums and collectors alike
from around the World and is considered a world authority
on the Modern Greek Coinage as well as English milled gold
and silver coins.
Seth Freeman. Director. Seth is the most recently appointed
Executive Director of Noble, taking up his position in October
2007. One of the new generation of numismatists Seth has
worked in the industry since leaving university in 1996
and is Noble’s resident Banknote and Token expert
as well as Treasurer and council member of the British Numismatic
Trade Association.
Edward Baldwin, Non Executive Director. Edward has worked
in the numismatic industry since the early 1970’s
and has amassed a great wealth and depth of knowledge in
all areas of Numismatics. His specific area of interest
is in European coinages and coins of the Far East, notably
those Russia, former British colonies, and coins of the
Orient.
Stephen Hill joined Noble on 1 September 2005 after 15 years
at Spink. He is a extremely well regarded and respected
numismatists with a worldwide reputation. Stephen specialises
in English, Scottish and Irish milled and hammered coins.
He is a member of The British Numismatic Society and American
Numismatic Association.
Paul Hill joined Noble on 1 September 2005 after 5 years
at Spink. He is also a highly regarded and respected numismatists
with a worldwide reputation. Paul is our resident expert
in Ancient Greek, Roman and Byzantine coins. He is a member
of The British Numismatic Society and American Numismatic
Association.
Graham Byfield. As well as being our resident Greek, Roman
and Byzantine coin expert Graham manages our commemorative
medals department. He is actively involved in the group’s
auction business and can count among his accomplishments
the discovery of an entirely new Roman gold coin which sold
at Baldwin’s New York sale in January 2006 for $100,000.
David Kirk. David took his first steps into the numismatic
trade in July 2007 having graduated from the University
of Oxford and then Edinburgh University with a degree in
Theology and a Masters degree in Archaeology respectively.
David has forged his specialisms in Military Medals and
British Milled and Hammered coinage.
Caroline Holmes. Caroline graduated from the University
of Southampton with a degree in the History of Art and subsequently
attained a masters in the same subject from the Royal Holloway
University before joining the coin department at Spink in
2002. In 2005 she made the transition at Spink to their
Numismatic Book department and shortly after joined the
team at A. H. Baldwin to continue in a similar role.
Laurent Stainvurcel. Laurent is the newest
member of our expert team, joining the company in June 2008
as a Numismatic Assistant Laurent is mainly concerned with
European coinage.
